Shoot 2 Reflection

Our second shoot I feel was very mediocre. Looking back we got some really good footage however we also got some very lacklustre footage. With this shoot being narrative based we were looking to get some shots which displayed a very depressed girl during lockdown who has been dragged away from her friends and is just stuck in her room doing the same thing every day, to when ‘The Dog Days Are Over’ and she is out of lockdown with her friends again enjoying her freedom, portraying that the dog days are over. Firstly we started at each of our houses to show the depressed stage of our narrative, then once we shot all of these we headed up to Le Guet which is where the bulk of our high quality footage from this day came from. However the footage we got to show this didn’t portray that message very well, and the rest of the footage we shot for our narrative was just not very good and seemed like very poor ‘acting’. After this we shot some more performance based scenes which did work quite well so they saved the shoot overall I feel.

WWW –

Good performance shots

Good use of natural surroundings

High quality focus and shots

EBI –

More structure going into the shoot

Better shots to convey narrative

Range of shots (closeups, long shots, shot reverse shots)

Less acting like

Overall I feel as if the shoot was very average however useful as we got a decent bulk of footage, especially for our performance. However it is annoying that the footage for our narrative wasn’t very useful and was a bit of a waste of time and we will probably have to re-shoot.
