Music Video – Final Draft

In this blog post lies Elliott and I’s final draft of our music video. This is the fourth variation of our music video and we have reflected on each and every one and we now finally have a video that we are happy with.

In draft 3 we had a few issues that we needed to adjust to have a better video. First of all we added more effects and transitions. Throughout the video process I have been able to understand the importance of editing as it conveys substantial meaning.

We finally found footage suitable to fill in the blank space at the end of the video. We decided to use a flashback at the end of the video. The flashback is represented after the main protagonist commits suicide. This intentionally placed here as it is emotional and sad and the flashback placed where it is the consumer should feel the emotions of the video.

In conclusion:

I am very happy with the final product we and Elliott were able to create. I feel as if we appropriately edited to convey meaning. Our MES was carefully thought out to evoke emotions in the viewer, and we used a wide variety of camera shots and angles. These shots were carefully selected and I feel as if they have been executed well.

From the creation of the first draft, to now I feel like we carefully followed our plan and intern we have made a good quality music video.

Production meeting agenda for 2nd photo shoot and risk assessment

In this task I completed a production agenda meeting for my 2nd photo shoot.

Google defines an agenda meeting as follows,’ An agenda is a list of meeting activities in the order in which they are to be taken up, beginning with the call to order and ending with adjournment’

This definition help you understand the importance of this task. This is an example of organization witch is extremely important in media studies but also in future careers. This makes this a transferable skill.

My production meeting was very helpful as on the day there was no confusion to who was bringing what. This eliminated any potential mishaps, therefore allowing me to have a successful shoot

Chosen Adverts

In this task I choose 2 A4 portrait full page adverts that are appropriate for my genre and audience. This task will help me complete my music magazine.

Here are my selected advertisements:

Pin on Adidas

Advertising Campaign : Adidas: Pusha T Advertising Campaign Inspiration Adidas: Pusha T Advertisem… | Adidas advertising, Sports advertising, Advertising campaign

I choose these adverts as both Adidas and Nike are both a huge part of rap culture. Nike’s shoes have been included in many rap videos in the past. In America this is called sneaker culture. In sneaker culture, shoes can represent a lifestyle, self expression and can even be a status symbol. This is similar to what hip hop can be to certain people so I thought it was a no brainier to integrate the pair of them.

The reason I chose Adidas and Nike as they are the 2 largest shoe brands are they are both international recognized and respected. To have a respected brands in my magazine will make my magazine more respected and not only will the audience be able to interact with my article but also the ads.

CCR1 – How did you integrate technologies in this project?

In this task I had to answer the question; How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

I answered the question on a software called Piktochart , this way I could make my answer better for visual learning.

Looking back at this task I am very happy I have completed it. Not only did I get to display my new knowledge that I have learned but I got to revisit some parts of my learning that I haven’t re-visited in months. This is extremely helpful for me to retain as much information as possible.

Contents page – Draft 2

In this task I created my 2nd daft of my contents page. In this task I really focused on improving on my first draft by taking risks. As this is my second draft I decided to attempt new style and change my colour scheme.

The first difference you may notice on this draft is the change in colour. In my first draft I used dark blue and yellow. Looking back at this, I have released this was a bad decision. Not only is yellow and dark blue hard to read in parts, but they do not follow any conventions of a rap magazine. It also portrays a dark and gloomy feel. To fix this I have decided to use more bright colors, for example the red and light blue. This connotes a better feel to the page and the overall magazine.

Another thing I adjusted is the design in the background. I think this basic design is aesthetically pleasing and ‘clean’. I am happy with the draft but I must improve on it.

In my next draft I need to focus on adding more detail onto the page as at the moment it is quite empty and bland. Another thing I need to do is even out the text’s distance between them.
