Video for Meaning. The Camera talks Part 2

The camera can be used to make meaning and represent a star image really effectively. Different camera angles may represent the specific persons personality and power that he/she has over other people. A low angle panning up would represent that he/she is taller and in charge and people would look up. In this task, I had to experiment with a variety of different camera angles in order to convey my star image in a way so whoever looks at the clip would have a good understanding of how my model is feeling (shown on his facial expressions) as well as different uses of body language.  In my clip, I have included my money shot at the end which was my model doing a cartwheel. Also using edit to the beat to add more depth to my clip and make it more interesting to look at. So I had to include a variety of different angles in order to represent my model as happy.

Next time, I think that I would include more of a variety of different angles and make it look a lot more interesting to look at. So upping my creativity when it comes to filming. If I was the model, I would make sure that I express my facial expressions on how I am feeling as well as focusing on different important aspects such as body language ect.

Different camera angles I have included are as follows:

  • Low angle
  • Track
  • Aerial shot/high angle
  • Long shot
  • Mid shot

So the general purpose of having these angles is to make it look interesting to look at as well as giving the audience a sense of interest and get them engaged in what they are seeing. Each one having a representation in it (having some meaning on why that specific angle was used).

I have got different ideas from this video:

So when it comes to make my music video, I am going to try to include many different camera angles to make it look good to look at and really focus on the stillness of the camera when filming so not too shaky (looking professional).
