Lip Syncing Exercise

This lip syncing exercise enabled me to understand the importance of lip syncing in a music video as well as developing my skills and expanding my knowledge in using the software Premier Pro. Now knowing where the specific tools are, would also help a lot when it comes to me editing my actual music video.

So for this task, I had to record a short 20 ish second clip of a classmate in my class with them lip syncing over a song we chose being The Pretender – Foo Fighters. During this, I also got to experiment with a variety of camera angles to make my clip look a lot more interesting to look at and also introduce my star image in the clip to be energetic including loads of fast paced edits as well as cool transitions to also engage the person watching this clip a lot more as well.

I have created a visual shot list so if someone were to pick it up, they would know exactly what I am trying to get out of it:

After this, I got into a group and filmed the clip making sure to include all of the main factors to make my clip look really interesting and cool to look at:

What went well:

  • I have edited it to the beat really well
  • I have used a variety of different angles
  • I have changed location to make the clip look a lot less boring

What could I do better:

  • Maybe don’t include that blurry filter near the end as it looks too blurry (can not really see the star)
  • Throughout the video, keep the guitar in the other shots as well as it seems to go
  • Increase the time in my takes a little more as some clips look a little rushed

Focus Forward:

Doing this, gives me a lot more confidence in using the software Premier Pro as well as how good and important it is to include lip syncing in my music video. So in having more experience in using my camera as well as different new editing techniques would enable me to have a cool and smooth looking music video.
