Media Concepts

Media Concepts

Representation: Representation is mainly based on the thoughts and feeling someone may be getting when looking at a poster. So what story are they trying to get out of it and what it is implying in it. This

Audience: Audience is mainly who it is that is watching it, this could be known as the target audience so like how old are the people that are viewing it and is it suitable for them. This is known as someones Demographic.

Industry: This is mainly about producers, designers and makers and employing people for the role. Doing this making sure that it goes out into public and people would want to take there time out of the day to read on about it and see if they are interested in it. If so then there would be another customer, and that customer could tell friends and family about it and even more customers could be there. If it is a boring looking image and text, the chances are is that they are going to keep on walking and not pay any interest whatsoever.

Language: This is mainly linked with the techniques, so like facial expressions being one example I have added in the image above. So whether it is a happy or a sad genre of music, that could be shown in the images. If it is serious like heavy metal music, then darker colours may be used and if it is a more of a relaxing chilled out music, then maybe added more colours and more detail with it. So the layout is really important when it comes to this. Also Thinking about the type of language used as well, so perhaps bigger and more interesting words used to catch their eye a lot more.

How would it link?

I think that this would link with my magazine as these are essential to have on the front of it to attract people. Making sure that there is enough detail to drag in their attention to it and get the customers engaged into potentially buying it for themselves.

  1. Representation would be important to have on it as this is what customers would be looking at when taking a first glimpse of the magazine. They are going to look for detail and want it to be informative so they know what they are looking at and what it is about.
  2. Audience would be important, who am I trying to reach. If I am making it for teenagers to look at then I might make it more colourful or darker depending on the genre of the music to catch their eye when walking past it.
  3. Industry, so making sure that if it went out in the public would it grab attention. This requiring technology to possibly post it on social media to grab even more attention as it could go viral and the amount of customers would increase significantly.
  4. Language being important to have as well, as I mentioned it would be good to include it in as it could really do the trick when trying to spread the word about it and try to gain loads of customers. So making sure to include as much detail, creative fonts and colours and also possibly costumes (so what the models are going to wear) to grab the audiences attention and make them want to take time out of their day to read about it and also possibly buy it.

Media Environments,Ecology and Symbiosis:

Our ecosystems that function all over the world is actually similar to media, this is known as Ecology. What this means is that for clouds to form, evaporation would have to take place. And if condensation did not take place, rain would not be present causing a lot of problems with vegetation and crops. So in other words, it is all about relying for something to happen to continue the cycle and if one fails then all of it fails with it. An example being a shark and pilot fish, this is known as mutualism. So without the shark being there, the pilot fish would not feed off the scraps of food the shark drops, also the shark protecting them from predators that could eat them, this is known as a symbiosis relationship.
