Media ecology is the name given to the group of aspects that media share, each of them are intertwined and connected to each other to create the media that we see on our day to day lives. The aspects to this ecology are:

• Money
• Institution
• Social Media
• Creators
• Technology
• Distribution
• Government

All the ascpects are essential because if one isn’t there or doesn’t work then everything comes crumbling down to dust, its very much like the circle of life, for example, if the Creators (actors, models ect) aspect wasn’t there then there wouldn’t be any media to be posted, meaning no money would be made, with out any money none of the software, buildings, employes and machines could be paid for. That would then impact all of the media because then there would be no entertainment, no videos, no magazines or posters. There wouldn’t be anything for anyone to enjoy on the media because nobody would be there to make any media.

Everyone cosumes and creates media, even if they say they dont post and photos or videos they still create media. Every text and message and comment they make, they have made a form of media that provides entertainment and social interaction to others, I for one consume more media than produce it and I think I have solidified my personal identity with the social media that I use. Many forms of media exist, such as:

• Social Media
• Video Games
• Movies
• Books

I for one produce media and cosume media in the the form of watching videos and playing games and have made a personal collage of my media diet, the size of the image correlates with how often and how much I use it, for example the bigger the image the more I use it.  the medias that I have put in this collage have been catagorized into 4 different categories that have been annotated according to the Blumber and Katz theory and how everyone uses the same media but for different purposes. These categories are:

• Entertainment – E
• Education – ED
• Personal Identity – P
• Social Interaction – S

Now when I begin to make my music magazine I can consider using entertainment, information and oppinions as a way of socially interacting with the audience reading the magazine to help reinforce their personal identity, this is important for us because it will increase and maximise relationships and engagment with the audience. This can increase sales because the audience that has a good relationship and engagment with the magazine they would then recomend it to friends and family.
