Here is my new and improved magazine after feedback.

I have completed and changed all of these targets.

Targets For Front Cover:

• Move my pug down, add a drop shadow to it or remove it

In this task I had to look on the internet for two adverts that I think would suit my magazine and fit my genre, I also needed to think what would appeal to my target audience. I have chosen these two specific posters because these both fit within the rap genre.

In this first advert I thought it was suitable for my audience because it is for a tour that Logic is going on, Logic is a very popular artist in the rap community as well NF and Kyle being two very well known rappers. This may attract more attention to his tour. He also knows how to attract the rap community, he uses very bold writing to draw the reader in.

I picked this second poster because I thought this would appeal to my audience. I thought this because although it’s not to do with shoes it involves the rapper Kanye West who has released his new pair of Adidas trainers called yeezy’s. I think this would appeal to my audience because they may like Kanye West and get these shoes specifically because they are made by him.

In this task I designed the first draft of my contents page. I again was trying to match the colours to make it fit in with the rest of the magazine so it would not look out of place.  I tried a fifty fifty split with the photo and the white background to put my contents on. I didn’t write too much under each page number because I did not want to bore the reader but just give them a brief explanation of each page.

• How does the contents page work in tandem with the front cover?
• Is the font/typeface consistent with the front cover?
• What genre of music is the contents page featuring?
• Describe the images of the stars using adjectives.
• Which cover-lines tempt the audience to read on and which ones stand out and why?
• How do the cover-lines reflect a music magazine? If they don’t,  which ones need to be adapted?
• What aspects do you consider conventional or unconventional (page numbers, inserts, captions, catchy cover lines, editors comment?)

Summary Of Feedback:

• Make the main cover line in black and red instead of white and red to break up the main focus of the cover lines
• Make sure you are aware as to what numbers have a outline behind them as one of them do, but the rest don’t
• ‘page 22’ fix the line spacing as the words start the new line as it is on a slant

In this task I designed three different idea for how my contents page could be set out. I tried to make them as different as possible to give me some varied options on how it could look. On my first design I tried to focus on the photos and have a small contents in the top left corner. Where as in the second one I have the images going round however I have the contents bold and in the middle focusing your attention to that as well as viewing the photos to see whats inside. On my final idea I tried to make it a bit more different, I was thinking of having a photo in the background and then having different sized page numbers on the left with lines leading across the page, I though this made it a bit more interesting and exciting to read.

In this task I created my second draft for my double page spread. What I had to do was look at the feed back I had been given from my first draft and I then made the improvements. The first improvement I made was adding in the drop capital to give the reader an idea of where to start reading.  I then changed the whole of the stand first into bold. The next suggestion I was give was to manipulate the photo of my model which I now think looks better than before. On the answer of question six it was not justify aligned. The final thing I added was the photography by in the bottom left of the image.

What he did well:

He has laid his questions out very well and made the title look bold and stand out. The fonts and how the text is laid out looks very good.

Targets for development:

What he can do to make it better is start off with a drop capital, after doing that can make the whole stand first in bold to make it stand out.

He could also put some quotes on his photo as well as a caption. He should  manipulate the photo of the model better.

On the answer for question 6 he hasn’t  justify aligned it so I will need to change that.

One more thing he could do is to add in a byline and the photography by section.

In this task I designed my double page spread for my music magazine, this was my first draft if me designing it, I added in my article and came up with a head mast. I tried to keep the colours similar to my front page to make sure it all fits in together and looks like a whole magazine. What I need to do to make it better is start off with a drop capital, after doing that I will make my whole stand first in bold to make it stand out. I also need to put some quotes on my photo as well as a caption. I need to manipulate the photo of my model better. In this task I did my second photo shoot and these are my contact sheets from the shoot. My favorite photo is IMG 1169 which is enlarged and clear at the bottom underneath my contact sheets. I like this image because It has a dark feeling but has a good lighting on their faces. We went to Candie Gardens and also the priaulx Library, when it was raining heavily we used the inside of the library and also used exclusive access of the attic and the private rooms.
