Below is Draft 1 of our social media page. It is important that the social media page portrays our star image in the same way as out digipak otherwise it with cause conflicting opinions and will not fit the repertoire of elements (Lacey) which will cause the audience to reject the text.

Improvements for Draft 2:

  • Start to hype release of tour and release of digipak
  • Add in current issues
  • Add in a charity that we support

This is a marketing timeline, this is to help us think about how to market the release of our digipak and make the build up suspenseful for the audience. There are many ways that this can be done for example:

  • Viral marketing campaign
  • Guerrilla marketing campaign
  • Teasers

But there are also other things that need to be considered like AIDA (Audience, Interest, Desire and Action), this makes sure there the correct product is being advertised for the correct audience in order to make money. But the social media page also needs to make sure that it:

  • Is entertaining
  • Is informative
  • Creates social interaction
  • Gives the audience a personal identity

Social Media Page

It is important that we analyse a social media page as we need to know what is conventional to our genre and what other accounts similar to ours are doing to promote their star image.

There are many different ways of marketing for example:

  • Integrated advertising
  • Viral marketing
  • Guerilla marketing

We also need to make sure that we affectively use AIDA which stands for (Audience, Interest, Desire and Action) to make the audience want to buy our digipak and other things that we are promoting on out SMP.

Analysing a social media page, has allowed me to realise the key terminology  used when discussing a social media page (SMP). All of these key terminology used are all technical conventions of a SMP.

The social media platform that I decided to analyse is Instagram as it is the platform the I use most often and I plan to recreate an Instagram page when I make my social media page.

A social media platform can be used to promote a product or as a marketing campaign to market a new release. Your social media page has to portray your genre to aim to the right target audience so that they are interested in what you have to post.
