The Media Ecology. Map of concepts and mediascape.

The legoland is a metaphor for media, it shows how everything needs each other to keep itsself going just like how media needs all it’s components to continue.

On the ecology poster there is one main topic picked- ‘technology‘ and how it is a vital to media and all the other aspects needed. This is just showing that each individual one is so important to media.If one isn’t present it will have an affect on all the others.

For an example Facebook producers media but also if you have Facebook and like or share something ect you as a person are creating media.

A magazine may not be technology although it needs all these factors of the ecology of media because that is what is needed for it to be successful. Although some will not be as vital they will still be needed and are all linked in ways which help one another. However it uses technology for production and marketing also including distribution and these factors are so important for a magazine.

I will use media ecology when producing my magazine because I need to keep in mind about getting the audience attention and keeping them interested. Also I will be mindful of how our modern society works especially with the concept of social media.
